Summer 2014

wow - Our Summer has been a great one as you can tell from my lack of posting - it's easier to keep a few post on Facebook posted than to keep up the Blog - which I do love to do because I have it printed out in book form for keepsake books! Here is a rundown of what we have done. Anthony graduated from Pre-k and received the best manners award from Mrs. Watkins - YEA! The first two weeks after school Anthony had swim lessons then we went to Heber Springs and took a much needed mini short vacation with my parents on Greers Ferry Lake. Came back home and spent the 4th of July just catching up on the farm duties and relaxing. Then Vacation Bible School for a week - took a week off - went to the waterpark in Denton with Tony- then our great friends visited for a few days and Anthony had gymnastics camp that whole week and went to the waterpark with them. Oh, I forgot Tony and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary the same day our good friends Trish and Seth Taylor were married and Anthony also started Karate once a week - somewhere in all of that! We just came back from Camden - had most of the family together and Austin was Baptised with David and Susan Mencer as his Godparents - it was a great service and so glad for all who attended. We have done our back to school supply shopping - got a new school haircut and new shoes -now just a couple of more weeks before Anthony starts Kindergarten! I will also mention now as I am still 39 ;) but the big 40 is coming up this weekend - WHAT! not really possible as I still feel like I am in my late 20's. I may have missed a few things here and there but that's what we have been doing. I hope everyone that reads this has had a wonderful summer and pray that everyone is doing well. May God continue to bless us all.

Austin at 7 months

OK, so these have been the hardest so far to take. As you can probably tell from the pictures - we have a crawler on our hands. He learned how to sit up and crawl in about a weeks time - now these past two weeks since taking these pictures he is FAST! And now can pull up on some objects and stand on his feet.

Brother Love

Anthony loves his little brother so much and Austin just lights up when he sees Anthony. If I am trying to get Austin's bottle ready or if we are traveling in the car and Austin gets upset - Anthony can always make him laugh and stop crying. I pray they continue to be the best of friends!! I put Austin on the floor to play one day as I was putting away clothes. Anthony got the Kindle and found a Power Rangers movie (really into that right now!) and got down with Austin so he could watch it as well!
Finally got the bouncer set up for Austin and he really likes it - of course Anthony is right there to help!!

Anthony

Anthony is such a fun spirited kid. He is so easy going - rolls with the flow - and you never really know if something is bothering him because he doesn't complain. He makes me laugh so much! The first picture is Anthony at his spring concert at school last week. Tony and I are seated in the middle of the gym and it just so happens that his class comes in and sits down beside us. We wave as he comes in and sits down then Anthony looks at me and does the two fingers at his eyes and points at me!! Ha. ( I can see you!!). Where does he come up with this stuff! I just so happen to be taking a picture as he did it. The second picture is his Pre-K spring picture. He is really growing up fast!

Time

Ok so I still am not posting as much as I should and I feel that I am forgetting lots of stuff to update but here goes what we have been doing with our time lately. We had a great Crawfish Boil at the house for our good friends that are getting married next month. We had about 60 + people come they received lots of good things and we had a good tiring visit with my parents who thankfully are always there to help - which we needed! Setting everything up, cooking, and cleaning up afterwards! Anthony just has a couple of weeks left for Pre-k. I went and registered him for Kindergarten. He has really learned alot this past year - he can spell and write his name as well as identify and write his ABC's! He can also count almost to 20 and identify his numbers up to 20 as well. I just have to try really hard to keep it going over the summer so we don't forget it! That will be the most challenging thing for me this summer as I know he will want to play and swim. ME TOO!! This past weekend we made a trip with Tony to Jonesboro - he had work to do and we really needed to see my grandmother. She is 89 now and has dementia and lives in a nursing home there. My Aunt Yvonne and Uncle Gordon came to see us and meet Austin as well so it was a good -well needed visit - short and tiring as well.

Austin 5 Months

5 months old! Austin has finally mastered the roll over and does he ever! Rolls on his stomach as soon as I put him down and now he can roll onto his back as well. The first few nights were tough - Austin would roll over in his sleep and almost be face down and could not roll back and didn't want to we would get up and roll him onto his back and before either of us could get back in bed he would be on his stomach again. Finally would just turn his head to the side so we could feel comfortable with him sleeping!

Rice Cereal

A couple of weeks ago I started Austin on rice cereal once a day - just a little bit and he seems to like it and is getting a good handle on eating - today I made it thicker and he really ate it up!
